1970
Lande Family traces its roots back to the late 1960s, when grandfather Wilfried van der Lande acquired the furniture manufacturer Jami.
Based in Schijndel in the south of the Netherlands, Jami specialised in office furniture production. Wilfried was an entrepreneurial spirit with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, a strong commercial instinct and the confidence to embrace new opportunities. Under his direction, the existing Jami collection evolved and expanded with new designs created in collaboration with local designers.
1980s
Initially, production was focused exclusively on the wholesale market. During the 1980s, however, opportunities increasingly arose to supply dealers directly. Around this time, the name Jami was replaced by Lande Design — marking the beginning of a new chapter.
In the 1990s, the company was taken over by Sander, Wilfried’s son. With a strong sense of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, he continued to develop and expand the business. Under his leadership, the company evolved once more and adopted a new name: Lande Group.
1988
In 1988, Artifort became part of the family business. Shortly afterwards, the production company Teska was acquired, bringing valuable in-house expertise in woodworking and further strengthening the group’s manufacturing capabilities.
In Lanaken — where Artifort had been based since 1975 — a new factory was built: a modern upholstery facility where furniture for Artifort, Lande, Zwaardvis and Pörtner is finished. In Bursa, Turkey, another production site was established for the manufacturing of metal and wooden components. At the group’s largest location in Schijndel, new models are developed and prepared for production, forming the creative and technical heart of the Lande Group.
Today, the family business is led by the third generation of the Van der Lande family: brothers Floris, Maurits and Reinier, together with their sister Charlotte.
Together, they continue to build on the company’s heritage and its brands. The name evolved from Lande Group to Lande Family: a reflection of its character and values. Lande Family stands for quality, craftsmanship, sustainability and continuity. A family at heart: socially minded, built on mutual trust, connection and commitment: the foundations of one strong, enduring family business.
